After School Activities

Children are unique, and so are their interests! St. Mark’s After School Activities are available to students who want to further a specific interest.

Activities will run throughout the year in three sessions. Sign ups will be available on this page below the descriptions for the two weeks prior to the start of the activities. All instructors have been fingerprinted, background checked, and have taken Safeguarding God’s Children.

A complete listing of activities and the sign up form will be available two weeks prior to each session. Pro-rated rates are not available if registering after the class has begun.

  • MONDAY

    Fioretto Fencing Academy
    K - 6th grade students
    Maximum 20 students
    Monday 3:30 - 4:30
    November 27 - February 26 (when school is in session)
    Location: Music room
    Cost $175 (all equipment will be provided by the instructors)
    Fencing is an active sport that develops both physical and mental strength, as well as speed and agility. It is a fun and energizing sport that is great exercise for children of all ages and abilities. Must wear closed toe shoes to participate.

    K-1 Flag Football (Please note start date - after Christmas break)
    Kindergarten & 1st Grade students with Coach Taylor

    Come join Coach Taylor fun all the fun and excitement of flag football. Players will gain knowledge of all the rules and positions of Flag Football as well as strengthening their skills while playing fun games and exercises.

    Children are invited to join St. Mark’s Choristers, the church’s children’s choir program.. They rehearse Tuesday afternoons after school and must be available to sing for the 11 AM service at the church on the 1st & 3rd Sundays of each month.
     
    Cooking With Kids

    Join Mrs. Tedi Hamilton for fun with food. We will create fun and delicious treats. We will incorporate fruits and veggies into our list of yummy treats. Cooking can be fun, creative, and full of discovery.

    FALA Spanish Classes

    Come learn Spanish by playing and having fun! We are thrilled to offer FALA Spanish After School Classes at St. Mark’s Episcopal Day School. FALA offers a unique program which incorporates fun science projects, general culture, reading and writing, art, physical and intellectual exercises that give children a fun experience with activities that makes learning Spanish exciting. Your child will explore and embrace Spanish culture as they discover Picasso, Salvador Dali, and other famous artists and inventors. Classes are taught by native Spanish speaking instructors.

Come play for the Lions as we compete in the friendly NFISAC (North Florida Independent Schools Athletic Conference) against areas schools like JCDS, Beaches, and San Jose Episcopal.  

    Around the World

    Learn about cultures from around the world!  Students will join Mrs. Bast as they explore the culture, geography and history of France, Italy, China and more!

    Coding with Bots I (For those who were not in the fall session)

    Location: Innovation Lab
    Group Size Limit: 12
    Age Range: K-4th grade
    Cost: $100 plus $20 supply fee
    Get ready to meet Wonderbot Dash and his sidekick Dot along with the Ozobots, Ozmo, and other robo friends!  Learn to program these robots using iPad coding apps and sensors as we instruct the bots to travel the room, navigate obstacles and mazes, play games, and even dance and play music--all based on the commands you write using code!  Whether you have experience coding with robots or this is your first time meeting the bots, you’ll soon be teaching Dash, Dot, and all their friends all kinds of creative actions as we send them on missions to complete a variety of challenges; you can even teach them to respond to the sound of your own voice!  Participating in these robo activities is not a commitment to join the St. Mark’s Robotics team later on, but it will help you know if more Robotics and coding fun are in your future, and the bots think that once you meet them and start playing with them alongside your friends, you won’t want to stop!

    Come join Mrs. Haferkamp as each week you make a new  winter  themed craft. There will be Christmas crafts, “snow” crafts and Valentines crafts all while using supplies found in nature as well as paints, glitter, glue and more! Imagine all the fun you will have!

Take the plunge and join Coach Al as we laugh and train in daily mardi-gras bead chess tourneys and compete for prizes in our daily music-driven chess puzzlers and watch zany chess movies. There has never been a party-based approach to chess like this. Our high-energy chess classes are developmentally and cleverly targeted directly at the pre- kindergarten age group. Come join the fun as kids learn to love learning, learn that they are unspeakably smart, and learn how to absolutely cream their parents in chess!

    Come create and build! We will build cars, race them on a track, and find out which one is faster and why. The group activities will encourage team building skills. Other projects include space, buildings, houses, towers, and on and on.

    We live in a culture that encourages competition and praises coming out on top. GIG is an opportunity for guys to gather for games with an intentional focus on sportsmanship, teamwork and encouraging one another. Guys will walk away with valuable insight gleaned through fun activities and exposure to inspirational male role models as they affirm one another along the way. In a nutshell, we will have a blast bringing out the best in one another!
