Conducting research can seem like a daunting task sometimes but 5th graders at St. Mark's are learning how it can actually be innovative and fun! Students are learning all about the process of researching by reading informational texts, identifying key information, and using multiple resources about the same topic to combine information. For their first research project, Mrs. Akerstrom, 5th & 6th grade Language Arts teacher, asked students to read a short biography and an article about a person of interest. From there, students took notes using 2 strategies - a chart and a sequential list and created colorful posters to show off their hard work. Well done, 5th grade!
