Bench Dedication

Lisa Lampe Rogers, who passed in July of 2016, is the mother of Mead ‘09, Keadle ‘12, and Garland ‘18. She served the school for many years as a Board Member, on the Parents Association, and as the Parents Association President. To honor her legacy, her mother, Jo Ann Lampe, has gifted the school two benches in Lisa’s memory.

The benches, located just behind the office on the walkway back to Berg Field, were dedicated during a ceremony for a small gathering of family and friends on December 18.

From Jo Ann Lampe: “Lisa was beautiful, her spirit, smile, and eyes made you happy. She was also as beautiful inside as she was outside, and everyone who knew her, knew that. Her quest in life was to be a good daughter, wife, and mother, and she accomplished them all!

Lisa was a helper and a “doer,” that is the reason her profession as an Occupational Therapist was so important to her. She loved helping and teaching her patients to button their shirts, tie their shoe laces, and many other handicaps. Lisa was a most unselfish person, always putting others before herself. She was a great friend to many, if you were her friend you were fortunate. She remained close to her friends from high school, college, and graduate school.

Lisa loved and enjoyed dedicating her time and talents to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church and to St. Mark’s Day School. As her father told her to “Never give up” she honored that to the end.

There are no words to express how much she is missed by her family, friends, patients, and colleagues, and will be forever. Hopefully these benches will be a reminder of her life and her love for St. Mark’s.”
