Fourth Graders Lead River Clean-Up

Fourth graders led a school-wide effort to "Save the St. Johns River" by holding a clean-up day in Stockton Park on Saturday, April 8. Because of their efforts, lots of trash will not find its way to pollute the river, and the park will be beautiful for the Easter Sunrise Service to be held this Sunday at 6:30 a.m.

Students have been studying the St. Johns river and why it is so important to our community in class. They have read the book, Trouble on the St. Johns River, by Jane R. Wood, and are spending a day at Jacksonville University learning from The Riverkeeper organization.
