Alumnus a National Merit Finalist

Elijah Smith '11 is a National Merit Scholar Finalist - one of just 15,000 nationwide to have earned this distinction as a result of his excellent PSAT scores, SAT scores, and overall academic achievement at his high school.

He will be graduating Summa Cum Laude from Creekside High School in St. Johns County this spring. Elijah is also a four year member of Creekside's Academy of Emerging Technology and has earned the Microsoft Technology Associate certificate in Security Fundamentals and Networking Fundamentals.

Elijah is also a member of the National Honor Society and is an AP scholar with distinction. He is one of the founding members of the Creekside's Democrat Society and currently serves as Secretary of this student organization.
Elijah was accepted into the University of Chicago and he will be enrolling as a freshman at the school in September of this year. He was drawn to the university because of it's history of science and math excellence, including engineering the world's first controlled nuclear reaction below it's football field. However, Elijah also loved the school's emphasis on creativity and a willingness to give its students the space to be themselves.
