6th Graders Watching for Friday's Penumbral Lunar Eclipse

This Friday, February 10, skywatchers will be treated to a penumbral lunar eclipse of a full moon as well as comet. Sixth graders have recently been studying our solar system, orbits, phases, and eclipses. They are well prepared to enjoy the sights visible this weekend with knowledge of exactly how and why these events happen. They will be watching this Friday evening as the eclipse reaches its peak around 7:45 p.m. ET.
