Lego Lions Advance to Regionals

Congratulations to our LEGO LIONS who competed in a First Lego League tournament last Friday. Their teamwork and talents won them the "Best Robot Design" award as well as qualifying them to move on to the Regional Tournament to be held on January 28 at UNF!

St. Mark's second team, the Roaring Robots, also competed. The teams were tasked with building a LEGO MINDSTORMS robot to complete a set of tasks within a given time limit. The tournaments also require the students to work together to reasearch a real-world problem, with this years' them being "Animal Allies." They presented their ideas about what it would be like if human worked together with animals to accomplish something great.

St. Mark's is hosting its second annual SMEDS Classic First Lego League Tournament on Saturday, December 17. Everyone is welcome to come to the Lori Schiavone Commons to watch the action as 16 area teams compete.
