OUR GOAL IS 100% PARENT PARTICIPATION!

As of 1/11/12, we are at 61% parent participation, school-wide, and Mrs. Shelor’s 4th grade classroom is leading the way with 84%.

Traditionally, current parents are the biggest supporters of independent schools.  Before making gifts of their own, corporations and foundations look at parent participation rates to determine commitment to the institution. High levels of parent participation are an indication of happy parents who are satisfied with the quality of their child’s education.

How much should I give? Our primary goal is to have 100% parent participation, regardless of gift amount. These tax deductible gifts close the gap that exists between tuition and the cost of operating the school, approximately $1,400 per student. If St. Mark’s is to maintain the quality of education for which it has become known, it has to ask its families to pay for an increasing share of that gap. Our tuition is well below tuition at comparable independent schools nationally, and continues to be a great value in early and elementary education. Click here for more information.

Incentives for students!
This year we are offering an incentive to our students based on classroom parent participation. The first classroom in grades K-6 to reach 100% parent participation will enjoy a “Free Dress” day and a PE class of their choice, and the first classroom in ELP and Pre-Kindergarten will enjoy a special treat from Edible Arrangements.
