A Military Family Friendly School

St. Mark's is fortunate to be only a five minute drive from the Naval Air Station Jacksonville (NAS JAX). As a result, many of our families are military and the school understands the needs of a military family.

If you are or will be stationed at NAS JAX, we invite you to stop by and learn a little more about our school and neighborhood. We'd love to put you in contact with one of our current military families so you can hear for yourself why Navy families choose St. Mark's.

  • St. Mark's holds an Annual Veterans' Day Chapel in honor of those who have or are serving in the military.
  • Service projects often involve students writing letters and sending care packages to soldiers.
  • In the fall of 2008 following a presentation by a parent in the Navy, fifth grade students organized a massive clothing and blanket drive for needy children in Afghanistan.
  • All men and women serving in the military are lifted in prayer during weekly chapel services.
  • When a student's parent deploys, the child's class typically sends notes of love and encouragement to the parent.
  • A guidence counselor and Christian education teacher is on staff and available for students in need.
  • A St. Mark's community of parents and children are readily available to help transition and welcome new families to Jacksonville.
  • St. Mark's Episcopal Church welcomes military families to learn more.

It may surprise you to learn that a private school education can be affordable. St. Mark's tuition is significantly lower than comparable schools in other military cities. Need-based financial aid is also available as well as certain scholarships. We understand you may only be with us for a short time, and we are willing to work with you regarding contract limitations.

Contact the Director of Admission, Susan Kwartler , 388-2632 x21, to learn more about St. Mark's.
