Pre-Kindergarten II
St. Mark’s Pre-Kindergarten II program provides a developmental curriculum that involves children in many hands-on activities and is a natural progression from Pre-K I. A nurturing and supportive environment promotes responsibility, decision-making, and cooperative social skills. Children are given opportunities to grow toward their maximum potential, using their own learning styles.

Language Arts: Our curriculum includes listening, speaking, and writing activities which encourage development based on each individual student experience. We use the Houghton Mifflin Pre-K Reading Program. Through literature, learning center games, journal writing, stories, poetry, and informational reading, the children develop their language skills. We also visit the library regularly to enjoy story time.
Math: Earlybird Kindergarten Mathematics is a comprehensive, activity-based program that uses the pedagogical principles of the Singapore Math approach to help students build a strong foundation in mathematics through fun-filled lessons and activities.
Resource Program: Our students attend music, art, library, and physical education classes with full-time faculty trained in their respective field in well-equipped resource classrooms. Pre-Kindergarten II students attend Chapel twice a week and actively participate through story telling, songs, and prayer.
Foreign Language Program: The Total Physical Response method introduces the students to the Spanish language through familiar songs, stories, and physical activities in the classroom.
In addition: Full-time teaching assistants; 9:1 student to adult ratio; well-equipped classrooms; an age-appropriate playground; and an Extended Day Program for before and after school.
