4th Grade Special Friends

Fourth graders performed at the St. Mark’s Church Special Friends Luncheon on Wednesday, October 6.

Songs included an Americana theme with “You’re A Grand Ole Flag,” and “America the Beautiful.” They then delighted the audience with perfectly performed square dances.

At the conclusion of the show, the students delivered handwritten greeting cards to the special friends.

In fourth grade, students are paired with St. Mark’s Church homebound and elderly parishioners. They write letters, draw pictures, and invite them to special services. This ministry is a tremendous gift to our special friends who receive the letters, and a wonderful lesson in giving without the expectation of receiving anything in return.
